Panasonic ToughPad A1

Panasonic has announced a tablet that is designed and developed for harsh environments. The tablet containing the Android 3.2 Honeycomb is named ToughPad A1 and has a capacitive screen size of 7 and 10 inches. ToughPad A1 itself is intended to be carried in outdoor activities, resistant to water, heat, cold, and shock. Previously Panasonic already released Toughbooks also intended to help the military field or construction work.

Panasonic ToughPad A1 will contain the processor 1 GHz dual-core Marvell, 16GB of internal storage and can be enlarged with an additional 32GB via the MicroSD slot, only 1.8kilogram weight (without stylus). Besides these tablets can also be seen when the sun shines on the outside of the room, and can be used also with a stylus. Connectivity on the Panasonic ToughPad A1 include WiFi and 4G (LTE or WiMAX between). Battery life up to 10 hours, and Panasonic providing service for the battery that is not working properly.

In addition to focusing on hardware, Panasonic also provide security for ToughPad A1 by providing encryption on the hardware by adding a dual-factor authentication and VPN services increases. Security is installed on this tablet will be in accordance with FIPS 140-2 for use in government and medical. ToughPad A1 will be launched first, followed ToughPad B1 aimed at professionals, which is expected to be priced at $ 1.299.
